What this is
The Intent Data Explorer helps you understand the topics and solutions an account has recently been researching.
Search for a company to review its recent intent signals, identify changes in research activity, and determine which accounts may be worth validating or prioritizing for outreach.
When to use this
Use the Intent Data Explorer when you want to:
Research the intent activity of a specific account
Identify topics gaining or losing momentum
Compare recent activity with previous weeks
Understand which individual signals are driving an account's intent
Decide whether an account warrants additional research or sales follow-up
Search for an account
To explore an account:
In the menu, click Intent Data Explorer
Enter the company's website, such as "example.com"
Select Search
When a matching account is found, the Explorer displays available company details, intent keywords, recent intent history, and the number of contacts available in Propensity.
If the account cannot be found, confirm that you entered the company's primary website rather than a specific webpage.
Choose which intent signals to view
The Intent Data Explorer provides two possible scopes.
Workspace or audience intent
This view limits the results to the intent topics configured for your workspace or the audience from which you opened the account.
Use this scope when you want to understand how the account is researching topics specifically relevant to your targeting strategy.
All Account Intent
This view shows every available intent signal found for the account, including signals outside your configured topics.
Use All Account Intent when you want a broader view of the account's research activity or when no workspace or audience topics have been configured.
When configured topics are available, the Explorer starts with the workspace or audience scope. If no configured topics are available, it defaults to All Account Intent.
You can also use the theme filter to narrow the results to a specific intent theme.
Intent history
The Explorer organizes recent activity into the latest 12 rolling seven-day periods. The As of date shows the date through which the analysis was calculated.
What changed this week
This section compares the latest seven-day period with the previous period and highlights:
Rising: Topics with more activity than in the previous period
New this week: Topics with activity in the latest period but none in the previous period
Cooling: Topics with less activity than in the previous period
Persistent: The topic observed across the greatest number of recent weeks
These labels describe changes in observed research activity. They do not confirm that the account has an active buying initiative.
Intent story
The Intent story summarizes the most important account-level pattern, including:
Whether overall research activity is rising, cooling, or remaining steady
How activity compares with the previous week
Which topics are gaining momentum
Which topic has been the most persistent
- When the most recent intent signal was observed
Use this summary as a starting point for account research and validation.
Intent momentum
The Intent momentum chart shows how the account's research activity has changed over time.
The chart includes:
Weekly activity: The number of distinct intent signals observed during each seven-day period
Three-week trend: The average weekly activity across the current week and the two preceding weeks
You can switch between 4-, 8-, and 12-week chart views. Changing the chart range does not change the broader 12-week period used for metrics such as Weeks Seen.
Topic momentum
The Topic momentum table explains which topics are driving the account's activity. Each row includes:
- Topic: The broader intent category
- Signals driving momentum: The underlying research signals associated with the topic
- Week-over-week trend: Whether the topic is new, rising, cooling, or steady
- Last seen: How recently activity was observed
- Weeks seen: The number of distinct weekly periods containing activity for that topic
Because the Explorer uses a 12-week view, Weeks Seen cannot exceed 12.
Key trends
The Key trends section highlights:
- Top intent signal: The strongest currently active signal
- Top momentum: The signal showing the strongest recent acceleration
- Most persistent topic: The topic appearing across the greatest number of recent weeks
The results are calculated using the intent scope currently selected.
All intent signals
The full signal table provides the underlying evidence used throughout the Explorer. The table includes:
- Category
- Signal
- Weeks Seen
- Last Occurrence
You can search the table or export the results for additional analysis.
Understanding the time period
The Explorer retrieves intent activity from the previous 90 days. Its trend analysis organizes the most recent activity into 12 rolling seven-day periods.
Weekly activity represents the number of distinct intent signals observed during that period. It should not be interpreted as the total number of individual searches, page views, or research actions performed by people at the account.
Taking action
Depending on where the account is available in Propensity, you may be able to:
Select Validate account to continue researching the account
Select View contacts to review available contacts associated with the company
Intent data indicates possible buying activity, but it does not confirm an active project or purchase decision. Combine intent signals with account fit, contact engagement, website activity, and CRM context before taking action.
