Before starting
Before launching TikTok Ads in Propensity, make sure you have access to a TikTok Ads account that can be connected to the platform.

Configuration options and settings
When launching TikTok Ads, you configure the channel directly within the ABM campaign.
Key configuration elements include:
Selecting video creatives for the TikTok Ads channel
Defining a call to action and destination URL
Ensuring all platform requirements are met
Propensity validates campaign requirements before launch. Each play displays a status indicator:
A green checkmark indicates all requirements are met
An orange indicator highlights missing or incomplete requirements
You can review unmet requirements directly from the channel before launching. Some text fields may be prefilled using AI-assisted suggestions in the playbook, but all values can be edited before launch.
Vertical ad visibility
For vertical or story-style placements, avoid placing important copy near the bottom of the creative.
Platform UI elements may overlap or crop lower portions of the ad.
For best results:
- Place important messaging near the top of the creative
- Keep critical text within safe visible areas
See Graphic Best Practices for Ad Sizes for additional creative recommendations.
Validation and confirmation
After clicking Launch, the TikTok Ads play will go into a Pending state and will become Active once TikTok approves the ad. This process can take up to 48 hours.
You can confirm successful launch by:
Seeing the TikTok Ads play marked as Active
Noticing the Launch button changed to Pause
Viewing performance data in the Analytics section of the campaign (it may take 24 to 48 hours for the campaign to be fully active)
If any requirements are missing, the launch is blocked, and the platform prompts you to resolve them before proceeding.
Common issues during launching
Most issues occur before launch and can be resolved without contacting support.
Common issues include:
TikTok Ads account not connected
Missing permissions on the connected account
Required campaign fields or assets were not completed
In these cases, Propensity prevents the campaign from launching until the issue is resolved. If problems persist after meeting all requirements, contact support.
What happens after launching
After launching, TikTok Ads campaigns may take 24 to 48 hours to begin delivering. This is expected and part of the ad delivery process.
