What This Is
The Gong integration lets your sales team view Propensity account intelligence directly inside Gong, through an embedded Propensity Account Profile on the Gong account page. This integration displays account intelligence; it does not import Gong call recordings or transcripts into Propensity.
When To Use This
Use this integration when your sales team works in Gong and needs visibility into Propensity's account intelligence without leaving Gong.
Before you start
Before you configure your integration, there are a few requirements:
- Salesforce must already be connected to the Propensity workspace
- A Propensity workspace Editor or Admin to access Connections and begin setup
- A Gong Technical Admin to complete the authorization
- Gong account records must be mapped to their Salesforce Account IDs
Step 1: Connect Gong in Propensity
In Propensity:
- Open Workspace Settings
- Go to Connections
- Locate Gong and click Grant Access
- Sign in to Gong as a Technical Admin and approve Propensity for the company
- After returning to Propensity, enter or confirm the company's Gong URL
- Example: your-company.app.gong.io
- Use the actual company hostname shown in your Gong browser address bar, without https://, trailing slashes, or a page path. This hostname identifies the Propensity workspace used to load the profile
- Click Save Gong URL
- Confirm that Propensity displays Connected and configured
Step 2: Verify the Account Panel in Gong
In Gong:
- Open an account associated with a Salesforce Account
- Look for the Propensity Account panel on the Gong account page
- Confirm that it loads the corresponding Propensity account profile and intelligence
Important Notes
- The connection is company-wide. Individual Gong users should not need to connect Propensity or sign in to Propensity separately
Troubleshooting
Cannot access Connections
Ask a Propensity workspace Admin to confirm that your role is Editor or Admin.
“Gong workspace not configured”
Compare the saved Gong hostname with the hostname in your browser address bar. If they match and the error persists, contact Propensity Support.
“Gong integration is not connected”
In Propensity, go to Workspace Settings > Connections and check the Gong connection. Complete authorization if the connection is inactive.
“Invalid Gong account”
Confirm that the Gong account is linked to the corresponding Salesforce Account.
“Gong workspace mapping is not unique”
Contact Propensity Support to investigate the workspace mapping.
“Invalid Gong request”
Open the Propensity profile through the embedded panel in Gong. Do not test by opening the embedded profile URL directly.
