What This Is
Journey Reporting, located in Reporting -> ABM Engagement, helps you review an account's recorded activity and opportunity milestones over time, providing a chronological view of its interactions and progression.
Journey Reporting offers two main views:
- Account milestones: Review recorded activities and opportunity milestones associated with a specific account
- Advertising clicks: Explore recorded programmatic advertising engagement across accounts and contacts for a selected period
Together, these views help you better understand account activity, review marketing engagement, and examine how recorded interactions relate to opportunity milestones.
When to Use This
Use Journey Reporting when you want to:
- Review the recorded activity history of a specific account
- Understand how account interactions and opportunity milestones have progressed over time
- Explore activity associated with particular campaigns
- Review recorded advertising engagement across contacts and accounts
- Export activity records for further analysis
Account Milestones
The Account milestones view lets you explore an individual account's recorded activities and opportunity milestones within a selected period.
You can select an account, apply filters, and review the available events in chronological order.
How to View an Account's Journey
- Open Journey Reporting in the Reporting area
- Select Account milestones
- Enter the account's website in Account website, or locate an account under Browse accounts and select View journey
- Choose your reporting period using From (UTC) and Through (UTC)
- Optionally use Campaign activity to filter events associated with a particular campaign
- Use Activity type to focus on specific recorded activities, or leave All recorded activity selected
- Click Load journey to display the results
Select Clear to reset your selections.
Understanding Activity Types
The Activity type filter lets you narrow the timeline to specific types of recorded events.
Available options include:
- All recorded activity: Show all available event types
- Meeting created: Show recorded meeting creation events
- Seller activity: Show recorded seller activities
- Opportunity created: Show opportunity creation events
- Opportunity stage changed: Show recorded changes to opportunity stages
- Opportunity state observed: Show recorded opportunity states
- Opportunity closed won: Show opportunities recorded as closed won
- Opportunity closed lost: Show opportunities recorded as closed lost
Only activities available in the recorded history will appear in the results.
Understanding the Journey Timeline
After clicking View Journey and loading a journey, the report displays the selected account and its recorded events.
The timeline includes:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Occurred at (UTC) | Date and time when the event was recorded as occurring |
| Activity | Type of recorded activity or milestone |
| Campaign | Campaign associated with the event, when available |
| Opportunity | Opportunity associated with the event, when available |
| Source | Recorded source of the activity |
You can select Open account profile to view additional information about the account.
When the timeline contains multiple pages of events, use Previous events and Next events to navigate between them.
The report also displays information about the account snapshot and the available history coverage.
Browse Accounts
The Browse accounts section lets you select an account from the workspace's available account catalog without manually entering its website.
The table includes:
- Account website: The account's recorded website identifier
- Snapshot as of: The date and time associated with the account data snapshot
- Journey: A View journey link that opens the selected account's timeline
Use Previous accounts and Next accounts to browse additional accounts when available.
Important: The account catalog remains workspace-wide. Your date, campaign, and activity filters apply to the events displayed after selecting an account, not to the list of accounts available for browsing.
Advertising Clicks
The Advertising clicks view allows you to explore recorded programmatic advertising engagement across accounts and contacts.
Unlike Account milestones, this view is not limited to a single account. It displays available advertising engagement records for the selected period and campaign.
How to Review Advertising Engagement
- Open Journey Reporting
- Select Advertising clicks
- Choose the reporting period using From (UTC) and Through (UTC)
- Optionally select a campaign under Campaign activity, or leave All campaigns selected
- Click Load journey
The report displays available advertising engagement records associated with your selection.
Understanding Advertising Engagement Records
The results include:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Source date | Date associated with the advertising engagement record |
| Contact | Contact associated with the engagement, when available |
| Account | Account associated with the engagement |
| Campaign | Campaign associated with the engagement |
| Play | Marketing play associated with the record |
Where links are available, you can select a contact, account, or campaign to open the corresponding details.
Each row represents an advertising engagement record and may include multiple clicks. Therefore, the number of rows should not be interpreted as the number of unique contacts or the total number of clicks.
Navigating advertising records
If more results are available, select Next records or date window to continue reviewing the selected period.
Use Restart selected period to return to the beginning.
Advertising engagement uses the source's reporting calendar dates. These dates do not necessarily establish the exact time of an individual click.
Export Journey Reporting Data
Both Account milestones and Advertising clicks support CSV exports.
You can use these exports to review recorded information outside Propensity or perform additional analysis.
How to Export Your Results
- Select Export all matching events (CSV) in Account milestones or Export all matching records (CSV) in Advertising clicks
- The export page begins preparing the file and displays the number of records collected
- Keep the export page open while the file is being prepared
- When preparation is complete, click Save CSV to download the file
The export includes matching retained records across available result pages, rather than only the records currently displayed.
Depending on the amount of data, preparing the CSV may take a few minutes.
You can select Cancel export to stop preparation or Back to report to return to Journey Reporting.
If preparation fails or is cancelled, no partial file is offered. Select Prepare CSV to try again.
Understanding History Coverage and Results
Journey Reporting displays recorded events available from its supported data sources.
The report includes coverage information to help you understand the limitations of the available data.
Incomplete or unknown history coverage
Historical records may not include every activity associated with an account. Missing events or empty results do not necessarily mean that no activity occurred.
Account snapshot dates
The Snapshot as of value indicates when the underlying account snapshot was recorded. It is not necessarily the date of the account's latest interaction or the beginning of its activity history.
Advertising engagement dates
Advertising engagement dates reflect the source's reporting calendar dates. They do not establish precise click times or the order of events occurring on the same day.
Recorded associations
An activity associated with a campaign or opportunity does not, by itself, establish that the activity influenced the opportunity or generated revenue.
Data availability
Some records may be unavailable because of source coverage, incomplete information, or applicable contact exclusions. Results can also change between page loads and exports as source data is updated.
Always consider the coverage information displayed in the report when interpreting results.
Related Reports
Journey Reporting also provides links to additional reports:
- Account engagement: Explore account-level engagement information
- Contact engagement: Review engagement information associated with contacts
- Connected activities: Explore recorded activities from connected sources
These are separate reports that can provide additional context alongside Journey Reporting.
If Journey Reporting Cannot Load
If the report displays an error or does not return the expected results:
- Check the selected account website, if applicable
- Confirm that the start date does not come after the end date
- Review the selected campaign and activity filters
- Click Load journey to retry the report
If records cannot be loaded or verified, Journey Reporting preserves your filters so you can retry without starting over.
Remember that an empty timeline does not necessarily indicate that an account had no activity during the selected period.
Important Notes
- Filters vary by reporting view. Account website and Activity type are available only in Account milestones. Advertising clicks uses the selected date range and optional campaign filter to display engagement records across accounts
- An account may appear without matching events. Browse accounts displays accounts from the workspace catalog, regardless of whether they have recorded activities matching your selected dates and filters
