What this is
AI Agents let you create a specialized version of Propensity AI configured for a specific role or recurring task. Once created, an agent follows the instructions and configuration defined when it was built, so you don't need to repeat the same context every time you ask the AI to perform that task.
When to use this
Use AI Agents when you have a recurring task that should always follow the same approach. For example, an agent that always builds one-to-one campaigns targeting a specific audience, using your brand's voice and messaging guidelines.
Creating an AI Agent
- Go to Agents and click New Agent.
- Propensity AI will ask you to describe the agent you want to create
- Type a prompt describing the agent's purpose. Be as specific as possible: The more details you provide upfront, the more complete the agent's configuration and instructions will be at the initial setup. Include details like:
- the target audience
- campaign type
- any messaging or brand guidelines you want the agent to follow
- Propensity AI generates the agent based on your prompt
- To confirm creation, type an affirmative response (such as “yes” or “confirmed”).
- After confirming, click View Results to open the agent's configuration page
Reviewing and Configuring an Agent
After an agent is created, you can click its name and the agent configurations will show up, with information such as:
- Name: The name of the agent.
- Access Level: Set to Private so only you can access the agent, or Workspace so everyone with access to the workspace can use it.
- Status: Controls whether the agent can be used.
- Active: The agent can be selected and used.
- Inactive: The default status for newly created agents. The agent will not appear in the list of available agents until its status is changed to Active.
- Draft: The agent cannot be used.
- Deprecated: Deleted [TO CONFIRM: exact behavior of this status not yet verified]
- Purpose: A description of the agent's purpose, written by the AI based on your initial prompt.
- Instructions: The detailed instructions the agent will follow, generated from your initial prompt. You can edit these instructions or add new ones at any time.
- Brand fields: Additional fields related to your brand, such as brand voice, tone, messaging style, approved terms, and additional brand notes.
- ICP guidelines: Audience targeting requirements based on your initial prompt.
- Company / Product profile: Automatically populated based on Propensity's existing knowledge of your workspace and ICP. No input is required for this section.
- Saved JSON (Configuration file): A JSON file containing the agent's technical configuration. You do not need to edit this file.
Viewing Your Agents
The Agents section lists all agents you have created. Click your Agent name to access its settings.
You can edit the agent’s name, access level, status, purpose, instructions, Brand and ICP guidelines and the company or product profile.
Using an Agent
To use an agent, select it, then send a prompt describing what you want it to do (for example, "Build me a software campaign"). The agent will use its configured instructions and guidelines to complete the task.
Important Notes
- New agents start as Inactive. You must change an agent's status to Active before it can be selected and used.
- Propensity AI uses your initial prompt to populate the agent's instructions, ICP guidelines, and brand fields. Providing as much detail as possible upfront reduces the need for manual edits afterward.
- You can edit an agent's instructions at any time after it has been created.
