What this is
What Apex remembers lets you save, review, and remove your personal communication and working preferences. These preferences belong to your Propensity account in the current workspace.
Personal preferences are separate from agent instructions and approved workspace objectives. They guide how Apex responds; they do not authorize actions or replace your latest request.
When to use this
Use personal preferences to tell Apex how you prefer to work, for example, concise answers, a particular tone, or a preferred response format.
Open your saved preferences
- Open an Apex conversation in Propensity
- Select What Apex remembers at the top of the conversation
- Review the saved preferences shown in the What Apex remembers section
If no preferences have been saved, the section displays No personal preferences saved.
Each saved preference displays its category and value, along with an option to remove it.
Add or change a preference
- Choose a category from Preference: Working style, Answer detail, Tone, Language, or Format.
- Enter your preference under What should Apex remember? For example: “Concise answers with clear next steps.”
- Select Remember preference.
- After the page reloads, check that the saved value appears in the list.
Saving another value in the same category replaces that category’s previous value. Do not enter passwords, access tokens, or instructions to bypass approvals.
Preferences
Preferences allow you to personalize how Apex responds to your requests. You can define your preferred working approach, response length, tone, language, and presentation format.
Working style
Defines how you prefer Apex to approach tasks and collaborate with you.
For example, you can specify whether you prefer step-by-step guidance, structured recommendations, or an approach that focuses on practical next steps.
Answer detail
Defines how much information you prefer Apex to include in its responses.
For example, you can request short, concise answers or more detailed explanations.
Tone
Defines the communication style you prefer Apex to use.
For example, you can request a professional, conversational, or direct tone.
Language
Defines your preferred language for Apex's responses.
For example, you can specify English, Spanish, Portuguese, or another language.
Format
Defines how you prefer Apex to organize and present information.
For example, you can request bullet points, tables, or structured sections.
Remove preferences
- To remove one preference, select Forget beside it
- To remove all your saved personal preferences in the current workspace, select Reset my Apex preferences and confirm
Resetting preferences does not delete your conversations, approved workspace objectives, or existing audit records.
Manage the Prior chats summary
The Prior chats section helps Apex retain context from your previous conversations by saving summaries of topics you've discussed. This can help Apex maintain continuity across conversations without requiring you to repeat the same background information. These summaries provide historical context rather than verified facts, so they may not reflect the most current information.
- Select Refresh to update the summary from available completed conversation summaries.
- Select Forget in the Prior chats area and confirm to remove that saved summary. Your conversations and personal preferences remain.
Check the displayed As of time when using a saved summary as context.
Refreshing the summary does not change your saved personal preferences.
If a change is not confirmed
If the page says completion is unverified, use Check original request, or reload as instructed, to check the original change. Do not assume it was saved or submit it repeatedly.
If preferences changed elsewhere, reload before making another change. If personal preferences are temporarily unavailable, existing settings and conversations can still be used.
Important Notes
Your preferences are personal, not shared. They only apply to your account in the workspace where you save them. Other users in that workspace are not affected, and your preferences are not automatically carried over to other workspaces.
