What this is
In-flight edits refer to changes that can be made to a Play after it has already been launched and is actively running.
Some elements of a Play remain editable while it is live, while others are locked to preserve campaign integrity and delivery consistency.
This article outlines what can and cannot be modified once a Play is active.
What You Can Edit
The following changes are allowed while a Play is active:
Audience
You can edit the audience associated with the Play.
This may include adjusting:
- Account lists
- Buying circles
- Audience targeting configuration
If In-Flight Audience Updates is enabled for the campaign, updates made to buying circles and audiences can be synced into active Plays.
This allows updated contacts and targeting changes to be applied without relaunching the campaign.
If In-Flight Audience Updates is not enabled, editing a buying circle used in a live campaign will create a new buying circle instead, and the changes will not apply to existing active Plays.
For more information, see In-Flight Audience Updates.
Add New Plays
You can:
- Add new Plays to the campaign
- Configure them
- Launch them
New Plays operate independently from already launched Plays.
Launch Settings (Under Launch → View)
Within the Launch tab, you can adjust:
- Maximum budget
- Frequency Cap
- Bid amount (CPM)
- Domain exclusions
- End date
These updates affect delivery settings but do not modify the creative or core structure of the launched Play.
Download the Buying Circle Contact List
You can download the contact list associated with the Buying Circle at any time.
CRM Sync
You can sync campaign data with:
- Salesforce
- HubSpot
This includes manual sync actions while the Play is active.
What You Cannot Edit
The following changes are not allowed once a Play has been launched:
Edit Launched Play Content
You cannot modify the content of a launched Play.
This includes the core configuration and setup of the Play itself.
Manage Assets
Assets associated with the launched Play cannot be edited or replaced.
Important Considerations
- In-flight edits allow operational flexibility without altering the structural setup of a live Play
- Core Play configuration and assets are locked after launch
- Budget and delivery settings remain adjustable from the Launch tab
