Review how to connect, set up, and configure the Propensity HubSpot integration in this guide.
Time: < 30 minutes
Access Requirements: HubSpot Admin or similar credentials
Set-Up
Connecting to HubSpot
Log into Propensity > Workspace Settings > Connections Tab > Activate
Installing the Propensity HubSpot Integration Package
Workspace Settings > Installed Packages > Go to Installer
Click Create/Update HubSpot Properties to install the Propensity HubSpot Properties. No field mapping between the systems is required. Once connected, it will push data to HubSpot based on your CRM Sync Settings. Propensity will not overwrite any existing data points in HubSpot.
On the HubSpot Installed Package Components page, you can review the status of each component to understand what is successfully connected and what is not.
Propensity’s integration package automatically creates two custom objects in your HubSpot instance: Propensity Marketing Data and Propensity Website Visits. These objects store individual records for website visits and daily ad impression and click data, and associate them with company records in HubSpot.
These objects are useful for advanced reporting and ROI analysis in HubSpot, but they are not required for pushing Propensity campaign engagement data into HubSpot for sales activation or nurturing workflows.
Custom objects are only supported in HubSpot Enterprise subscriptions (such as Sales Hub Enterprise or Marketing Hub Enterprise). If your HubSpot account does not support custom objects, these components will not be created during the installation process.
Disconnecting HubSpot
If you need to disconnect Propensity from HubSpot, go to Workspace Settings > Connections and select Remove Access. This will stop any active syncs without affecting existing data in HubSpot.
Uninstalling HubSpot
To fully uninstall Propensity from HubSpot, remove the Propensity app directly within HubSpot by following the steps outlined in this HubSpot Knowledge Base article.
Additional Configuration
Without further configuration, Propensity data will still pass into the system. Propensity will add contacts and companies only if it does not find them within the system, Propensity will de-dupe based on email address at the contact level and website at at the company level.
Manage Contacts
- Log into HubSpot > Contacts > Lists
The first thing Propensity does when it integrates with HubSpot is send over a static list. Contacts will not integrate as marketing contacts, they are tagged as regular contacts, so that the customer's available HubSpot subscription contacts are not affected. It is up to the customer to set a contact as a marketing contact.
