What this is
Propensity AI can be connected to Claude using the Model Context Protocol (MCP). MCP is a standard that allows AI tools like Claude to connect directly to external platforms and act on your behalf. By connecting Claude to Propensity via MCP, Claude gains access to your Propensity workspace and can interact with it in real time.
Once the connection is set up, you can use Propensity AI directly from Claude using natural language prompts, without needing to open Propensity separately.
When to use this
Use this setup when you want to interact with Propensity AI directly from Claude, for example to retrieve campaign performance, check engagement metrics, or manage audiences using natural language.
What you can do with this connection
After connecting Claude to Propensity AI, you can use Claude the same way you would use Propensity AI directly. This includes:
Campaigns: Create new campaigns, check campaign status, and retrieve performance data using natural language prompts.
Audiences: Build and refine target audiences based on account attributes, contact criteria, intent signals, and CRM data.
Analytics and Reporting: Pull engagement metrics, compare campaign performance, review warmth score activity, and check spend data across your active campaigns.
Assets and Plays: Generate ad creative and manage omnichannel play configurations.
In practice, any prompt you would send in Propensity AI can be sent directly in Claude instead. Claude connects to your Propensity workspace, processes the request, and returns the results in the chat.
Data privacy
When Claude is connected to Propensity AI, your personal contact data is not shared with Claude. Claude only receives aggregate, summary-level data, such as impressions, clicks, and totals. Information that could expose personally identifiable information (PII) about your contacts is not included.
What you will need
Access to Propensity AI
A Claude account (web or desktop)
Step 1: Copy your Claude MCP URL from Propensity AI
Log in to Propensity AI and go to User Settings.
Under Claude MCP URL, you will see your unique connection URL. The token embedded in the URL is hidden for security.
Click Copy to copy the URL to your clipboard.
Step 2: Add Propensity as a connector in Claude
In Claude, click Customize.
Go to Connectors.
Click the + icon and select Add custom connector.
Enter Propensity as the connector name.
Paste your Claude MCP URL in the remote MCP server URL field.
Click Add.
Step 3: Set permissions (optional)
After adding the connector, you can turn on Always Allowed to let Claude connect to Propensity automatically without asking for permission each time.
If you skip this step, Claude will ask for your permission the first time you run a prompt that uses the Propensity connector. You can choose Always Allow at that point to avoid future prompts.
Using the connection
Once connected, you can send prompts in Claude that reference your Propensity data directly.
Example prompt:
Give me my top 10 most engaged campaigns of the last 10 days.
Claude will connect to Propensity AI and return the results in the chat.
The same proposal and confirmation behavior used in Propensity AI also applies when working through Claude. If you ask Claude to create or modify a campaign, audience, or play, Propensity AI first checks whether a matching record already exists, then returns a proposal for your review. Nothing is created or changed until you confirm.
Important Notes
- Your Claude MCP URL is unique to your account. Do not share it with others.
- Always Allowed is optional but recommended. Without it, Claude will request permission each time it connects to Propensity, which may interrupt your workflow.
